Artist Beate Emanuel
Emanuel Beate is a graduate of the Fashion Academy of Düsseldorf. From 1981 until 1993 she worked as a fashion designer in Asia, based in Hong Kong. Graphical illustrations of designs and collections were an integral facet of her working style. Since 1993 Beate is fully focussed on her great passion - painting.
When it comes to painting, Beate has an aversion to excess. She likes soberness and simplicity, both in composition and colour.
Beate uses mixed media, particularly combinations of acrylic with paper, sand, silver , gold and sometimes textile. Paint is applied in various layers. Pureness and minimalism is often the starting point of her work. The majority of her work can be classified as abstract or figurative.
