Artist Liesbeth Optendrees
Liesbet was born on the 10th of May 1955 and lives and works in the village of Enter in the Dutch province of Twente.
She had her first painting lessons from the artist Berend Seiger.
Gardening and travelling to warm and exotic places are her most favourite leisure time activities.
She loves to meet other people and to explore their different cultures.
This stimulates her imagination and leads her to experiment with many different materials, such as making her own paper, and integrating wood chippings and different kinds of sand and pastes in her works.
Her love of the Earth is to be seen in her work, this is mainly due to her use of the different tints that are to be found in nature. She likes to work with acrylic paint, which she applies in many thin layers to give the work that nice warm colour.
